We have just spent the Easter weekend at Blenheim Lodge and it
was all we could have expected. We were especially after a lake
view and the view from our room didn't disappoint.
The welcome was warm and the room was a perfect base for 3 days spent exploring the Lakes. The room was clean and spacious and the view was exactly as it was described. The Lodge is a 5/10 minute walk away from the town so it is quiet yet not far from all the restaurants and shops that you could need. Did I mention the breakfast?? We didn't need any lunch... it really hit the spot.
The owners genuinely had a helpful approach and nothing was too much trouble for them. If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere and a good central location (and a proper full English Breakfast) then I thoroughly recommend this B&B.

This visit was our second, we have another coming up, and we have nothing but praise for this B&B. Janz and Robert go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. Let us give you an example.
Our first visit was July '07 after visiting Jordan. The plane from London was held up by bad weather and as a result we were late getting to Manchester Airport where after the attack on Glasgow airport, the "lockdown" caused confusion with the shuttle to Bowness. Janz spent ages phoning around to ensure we were picked up. We finally arrived at Blenheim after 2am and Janz was there to greet us, help us to our room and provide a much appreciated cuppa and biscuits.
We are seniors and we would recommend this place to anyone. The hill is unavoidable if you want to enjoy the wonderful views; there's always a taxi to save walking!! Bowness is an ideal centre to soak up the outstanding beauty of the Lake District.

Where to start! Blenheim Lodge holds a wonderful charm about it from the
moment you step inside. That combined with the warm welcome you receive from
your hosts, Janz and Robert, add to making it a perfect combination of
hospitality and comfort.
We were given a friendly welcome over a nice cup of tea in the lounge, giving us
a chance to relax after the drive up to the Lakes. The views from the lounge
alone are lovely and you could easily pass your time sitting at the bay window
gazing lazily out towards the horizon of the Lake and snow capped mountain
tops.
Our room (The Coniston) was nicely decorated and in keeping with the character
of the gorgeous and comfy four poster bed, that Janz explained to us had been so
lovingly upholstered with beautiful raw silk that gave it a very sumptuous feel.
The views from the room are outstanding and Blenheim Lodge is in one of the best
prime positions for views, if this is what you are after - so nice waking up in
a four poster and opening the curtains to see that scenery!
Both Janz and Robert are extremely friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of
help in pointing us in the right direction for walks and different routes into
the village. They were very accommodating and Janz thought nothing of offering
to wash some muddy jeans that my fiancé and I had after a walk as she was
putting on a laundry wash.
Our room was cleaned each day and was spotless. Breakfast in the morning was
full of plenty of choice and and as soon as we sat down Robert would come out of
the kitchen to offer us tea or coffee and also come back with toast for us while
we had our chosen breakfast. The food was cooked lovely, and a nice way to line
your tum ready for the day ahead.
We would definitely return back to the Lakes, Blenheim Lodge and the its
wonderful hosts.

A wonderful, friendly home away from home! On a rainy afternoon, I was greeted
with hot tea and a personal chat that warmed me right up inside.
When I mentioned it was my first trip to the Lake District, I got tips about
things to do and getting about; and, among other things, directions on how to
get up to the viewing point just behind the guest house - a mere ten minutes'
walk up to a completely breathtaking panorama, perfect if you (like me) arrive
late in the day but still want to get a taste of it before bed.
As I often travel alone, I'm used to being shunted aside up
in an attic, with leftover furniture. At Blenheim Lodge,
however, the single traveller gets a fab surprise - the singles
may be a little smaller, but here they are just as nice as the
larger rooms, and just as thoughtfully put together.
(Since April, I've been back once and on my second stay, I was
in another room, every bit as nice.)
The Lakeside views from
my room were so stunning that TV news and weather forecasts were
forgotten - I just had to remain at my window, watching the
hills on the other side of Lake Windermere go to sleep.
I
can't think of a better place to go for a relaxing holiday.
